“My love for food started as a young boy watching my grandmother, mother and aunt tossing the freshest ingredients, spices, meats and seafood into a large gumbo pot, or making a Creole roux from scratch in a cast iron skillet.”Mike Adams, owner & executive chef
Mike and his family evacuated New Orleans ahead of Hurricane Katrina and landed in Chattanooga. Their food company, Mo’ Gumbo, had just won a contract to sell New Orleans favorites inside Louis Armstrong International Airport — three days before the storm destroyed it all. Blue Orleans is the dream that came out of that nightmare.
Today Blue Orleans is counted among Chattanooga's top restaurants and serves as a second home for displaced New Orleanians who miss the food, the music and the socializing.

So friendly, so tasty, such a great atmosphere, and the staff was the absolute best. Great cocktail list, too.
Amazing experience. The ambiance is wonderful and Chef Mike's cuisine is like no other — the balance of flavors, plating and aroma blew us away. We felt like we had stepped into New Orleans.
25 stars for food and service. The gator bites, étouffée, bisque, Nawlins pasta and shrimpalaya were all simply delicious. We will be back very soon.
